Vintage and historic cars evoke enthusiasm and spark a passion; since 1934 the Vintage Sports-Car Club has provided an arena for people to enjoy pre-war cars competitively and socially. Active in every aspect of motoring and motorsport for pre-war cars, the VSCC is one of the largest and best regarded motoring clubs in the world.
Since we were founded, our research has helped to reduce deaths from heart and circulatory diseases by more than half. But we cannot stop now. By 2030, we want to see advances across the spectrum of heart and circulatory diseases; we want to prevent these conditions from developing and we want those with existing conditions to have better, longer lives.
Endurance GB is the governing body for the sport of Endurance (Competitive Long Distance) Riding Great Britain, formulating the rules and organising rides to cater for all levels of ability, whether you simply want to compete occasionally at local events or aim eventually for top class and international competition. We provide and manage well over 100 events a year for members of the Association riding registered horses and ponies as well as many social and pleasure rides, to encourage non-members.
BASLOW CHOIR was established in 1971 and currently has over 50 members, from as far away as Sheffield, Buxton, Chesterfield and Matlock. The Choir sings a wide range of music, from serious choral works to more light-hearted offerings, and we like to explore the lesser-known parts of the choral repertoire. As well as performing our three main concerts each year, we also participate in additional performances in support of charitable events in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.
Helen’s trust ethos is that everyone should have the opportunity and choice to die in the familiar surroundings of home, if that is their wish. We seek to remove the barriers that may prevent a person with a terminal illness from staying at home. Each person and their circumstances are looked at on an individual basis and appropriate support is offered. In many cases a family member takes on the role of main carer and can become tired or feel isolated. Helen’s Trust can support them by providing night sits and day sits in the home.
This 26-mile Challenge Walk takes in the beautiful hills and dales of the White Peak area of the Peak District National Park, which starts and finishes in Monyash. The challenge is to complete the circuit within 12 hours and certificates will be awarded to everyone who achieves this. Individual trophies will be awarded to the first man, woman, male veteran and female veteran to complete the course.
Being based in Derbyshire, the home of the Peak District, we have a particular passion for getting out onto the trails and hills. So, as well as our main running coach service, we provide spectacular guided runs in some of the UK’s most scenic locations, and also support people new to off-road running to develop their skills.
